Dutch dairy cooperative Royal FrieslandCampina has sold its two regional dairy brands Mark Brandenburg and Milchreiter in Germany to ODW Frischprodukte for an undisclosed amount.

The transaction, which takes effect from 1 September 2013, has been approved by the Federal Cartel Office.

FrieslandCampina said it will now focus on its core brands, including Landliebe, Optiwell and Tuff.

ODW Frischprodukte had already acquired the Elsterwerda facility, where Mark Brandenburg and Milchreiter brands are manufactured, from FrieslandCampina in 2010.

FrieslandCampina and ODW Frischprodukte will continue to work together in matters of production.
