Emicrowave food labellectronic Article Surveillance (EAS) 4010 EP Food Label from Checkpoint Systems, Inc., Thorofare, N.J., earns certification as microwave-safe from TUV Rheinland, a testing and certification group based in Germany.

Testing shows other EAS tags can brown around the edges or even catch fire when tagged product is cooked in a microwave oven. Anti-theft 4010 EP Food Label enables high-speed source tagging of fresh and frozen food, particularly meat, poultry and seafood.

Other tag features include enhanced detection and deactivation.
