Fair Trade USA certification ensures farmers are paid a fair wage for their labor and that strict social, economic and environmental standards are met.
Beginning this week, the company plans to ship Fair Trade Certified Organic Raw Agave Nectar to supermarkets and natural food stores across the US.
Madhava executive vice president Victoria Hartman said the company is proud to make this important move as part of their ongoing commitment to sustainability.
"We are pleased to offer consumers the opportunity to make a difference and help support farmers, their land and their communities with every raw agave purchase they make," Hartman added.
According to the company, Madhava Raw Organic Agave Nectar is made from the natural juice of the Weber Blue Agave plant. It is Non-GMO Project Verified, low-glycemic and 1.4 times sweeter than sugar.
