French fry giant J.R. Simplot Co. has entered the guacamole business.Boise, Idaho-based Simplot’s Culinary Fresh line features four guacamole and avocado pulp packs, according to the company’s website.
Simplot officials would not comment on the products.
The company’s high-pressure cold pasteurization process eliminates spoiling agents without the need for artificial preservatives or citric acid in the packs.
All four products in the line come in 2-pound containers packed six to a case.
The line includes Extreme Supreme Guacamole and Western Guacamole; and Pure Pulp and Supreme Pulp.
All four products boast a 50-day refrigerated shelf life from the date of manufacture and consistent pricing and availability year-round.
The guacamole products include other produce including tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, red bell peppers, cilantro and garlic.
