Armenia: Exports of fruits and vegetables surge by 68 percent

 As of August 21th, Armenia’s exports of fresh fruits and vegetables amounted to 121,295 tons, according to data released by the Ministry of Agriculture. It said that year-on-year, exports surged by 49,000 tons (+67.7%), exceeding last year’s total exports by 444 tons. 
 
The ministry said that this year, exports of apricots saw an unprecedented growth. To date, 51,594 tons have been exported, 81.2% more than in 2017.
 
Arka.am reports how Armenian fruits and vegetables are mostly exported to Russia -about 114,603 tons or 94.5% of the total. The rest was sent to Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Hong Kong, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Iran, Belgium, Romania, Macedonia, Kuwait, Qatar and the USA.
