Several hundred new pesticide MRLs were among the standards adopted at the 36th Session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC), held July 1-5, 2013. Codex, which is run jointly by the WHO and FAO, sets various guidelines to promote international food safety. Further information on the 36th Session can be found in the following USDA report.This year's pesticide MRLs were proposed in the Codex Committee on Pesticide Residues (CCPR) Report, published after their meeting in May.
