Specialist in dietetic products and nutritional supplements Laboratoire PYC has launched what it claims is the first high protein weight-control chocolate. Available flavours are chocolate with praline filling and hazelnut pieces, chocolate with coffee-mocha filling and chocolate with classic filling.
The chocolates are supplied in the form of ready-to-use 35g bars. The formulae have, says the company, been specially developed for an energy-reduced diet. Each bar provides 10g of proteins and 0.3g of sugars on average. The chocolates contain three times fewer carbohydrates than traditional dark chocolate, while fibre content at 7g is said to be twice as much as in a classic chocolate.
It is, according to Laboratoire PYC, known that proteins play a key role in maintaining muscle mass during a weight-loss diet and, also they also deliver a satiating effect. The high protein and dietetic chocolate allows hunger to be controlled – but with pleasure.
