Tilapia waste used for biodiesel at new Brazillian plants

The announcement was made by Joacir Moreira from the National Department of Works Against Drought (DNOCS).Mr Moreira said that the plants have been set up in order to prevent the environmental problem of fish waste. The new facilities will produce around 8,000 liters of biodiesel per day.
Secretary of Agriculture, Water Resources and Environment of Jaguaribara, Antonio Flavio Batista de Araújo estimates that the biodiesel plant will help in preserving the environment, minimising the negative impact of aquaculture and will add value to production.
The Secretary of Agriculture of Jaguaribara says the plant will provide sustainability to the life of small producers.
